Not satisfied schmoozing with the who's who of Perth, Kenneth packs his weekend full of spills and thrills care of Mother Nature and waxed fiberglass. Looks like the snowboarding prowess has paid off…he can already sand board and surf! Monday, 31 October 2005A normal day at work. In the evening I went to the cinema with Puay, Stacy and Ken. The International Animation Film Festival is on here. What we went to see was a collection of short films, some good, others very strange.Tuesday, 1 November 2005Today it was backpacker night at Hip-e club. Very popular among backpackers and students. I went with Gap, Puay and Ken. When we arrived, there were already a few too many people there. Was good to check the place out, but I don't think I'll be going back. Wednesday, 2 November 2005Ordinary day at work. Used most of my time scoping data, going through drawings etc. Time-consuming work, but the quality of the data in Pims is getting better and better. In the evening I went to an Indonesian restaurant with Puay and Ken. This is the first time I have tried Indonesian. Spicy! Was a little trip to Queen before I went home. Thursday, 3 November 2005Today it was Brazilian night at the Dean. A live band played and it was packed with girls dancing! Very good place! Think I will come back here.This was one of Gap's last night's in Perth. She is finished with her studies after one year here. Friday, 4 November 2005New Friday. The weeks go very quickly here. At lunch I went with a group of people from work to the Seoul Café. This is a Malaysian place. One of the people I work with is from Malaysia and it was him that took us there.After work we went to Belgium Bar. Very normal here to go straight to the pub on a Friday afternoon. Still a little strange for me. Amongst others, I met Nicole here, she asked me to come her party in two weeks. It will more probably be a singles party. Should be great! Saturday, 5 November 2005Up early today to go on my surfing course. This was one of the things I had decided to try before I left Norway. The course goes over four Saturdays. It was very fun and I stood up a few times. Looking forward to next Saturday already.Pretty worked up after surfing, so we decided to play tennis. Jelena came with us, insisting she had played tennis only once before. It didn't look like it when she played. Ken and I were decisively defeated! We played for three hours before we gave up. At night we went to Subiaco Hotel and Under the Sea. Under the Sea is one of the "exclusive" clubs in Perth and you need membership to get in. We met up with Karen and Jane and they took us with them. Ok place. Sunday, 6 November 2005
Was up at 7.00 today, after only three and a half hours of sleep. After a good breakfast and a cup of strong coffee, Puay, Ken and I set off for Lancelin. This is a small village north of Perth and a superb place to try sand boarding. Sand boarding is a lot like snowboarding, but it goes a bit slower. Little extra wax helps with speed. | |
