Kenneth's time in Australia ends with a farewell party, a trip to the beach, and thanks from his boss for a job well done. Plans are already in place for his next adventures: for work, Calgary in Canada; and for play, a backpacking trip in South-East Asia with all of the friends he made in Australia. Monday, 12 December 2005Normal work day and relaxing evening with Heeah. Tuesday, 13 December 2005Spent the night with Ken. We headed out for a cup of coffee after work and began discussing travel plans for next year.Wednesday, 14 December 2005Today I played badminton with Heeah, Ken and Puay. Afterwards we went out for lunch at an Italian restaurant. It felt a bit like being back in Italy again.I am really impressed with all the good restaurants in Perth. So many to choose from and most of them are really cheap. Thursday, 15 December 2005Work is mostly revolving around ensuring a good handover to Gary Morrison. He is a competent guy and will manage fine.Spent the night with Heeah. Wine and Pizza! Friday, 16 December 2005My last day at Clough Oil and Gas. The boss was very satisfied with my contribution and wants to stay in touch. In the evening Clough organised a Christmas Party. Like Norwegian "Julebord", but by the beach.Saturday, 17 Decemeber 2005Today Heeah and I travelled to Monkey Mia with some friends. Followed her to the bus station, probably the last time I will see her.Afterwards I drove to the beach with Ken and Stuart. It was a pretty great day today after some weeks of "bad" weather. In the evening we had a farewell party together with friends of mine from work. Me, Ken, Wilson, Ravi, Quan. Super night that I won't forget! Sunday, 18 December 2005My last day in Australia. I used the day to pack my suitcase. Of course, there wasn't room for everything do I had to head out and buy another suitcase.Spent the day with Ken, Stuart, Wilson and Belinda. We have already started planning a backpacking trip together next year. The plan is to visit Thailand, Laos and Cambodia. Monday, 19 December 2005
Up early and ready to depart. Ken and Puay picked me up around 5am. We had a cup of coffee before I headed off to Singapore. I have a short stopover in Singapore before I come home. | |
