Never thought you would hear Kenneth excited about being able to do his own laundry? Read on! Trading in five-star luxury for a practical  apartment means Kenneth has more Australian dollars to spend on the important things in life - Norwegian parties, nights out with Aussie mates and the occasional Indian buffet.

Monday, 3 October 2005
After spending my first night in the apartment I'm really happy. Here I'm able to do some laundry, cook my own food and so on.
I spent most of the day at work today. Received engineering data for the Panna project. It needs plenty of work.

Tuesday, 4 October 2005

Another long working day. I'm using most of my time cleaning the data I received.

After work I went to the gym. Looking out the window in my living room I can actually see into the gym! It's just a small place, but it's ok.

Wednesday, 5 October 2005

I spent all day at work. It's pretty busy, but things are moving on.

Ken, one of the young engineers, is probably joining me at the Norwegian party tomorrow. He is one of the guys I went out with last Friday.

Received a lot of ITRs (Inspection Test Reports) today. Used most of the day to get them into Pims. Still a lot of work left, since all certificates are on the web.
After work I went straight to the gym, made myself dinner and prepared to go out. The party is in Subiaco. Taxis are really cheap here, but I went by train instead. Met a lot of people here. One of the other guys working at Clough is Norwegian as well. He was at the party.

Continued working with ITRs at work. At lunch time, me and some other people went to a Indian restaurant. The food was really great. As we were walking back to work we met some other people working for Clough. They at spent their lunch in a pub drinking a pint. I was again a bit shocked by the Australian drinking culture, but on Fridays this is supposed to be a normal thing.

Saturday, 8 October 2005

Finally the weekend is here! Started the day with a little training before I went to the shopping centre. The prices of clothes and other things are similar to those I am used to in Norway. Maybe a little cheaper in some places.

Ken had a birthday party at the Niche bar today. I met many of Ken's friends, plus a good number that work for Clough. Made friends with a girl called Catherine. She studies at the university and has a placement in Clough. Later in the evening we went to Ambar. This was a more "underground" place and a little different from what I am used to at home.

Sunday, 9 October 2005

After a hard Saturday, Sunday was more easy going. Managed to work a little but otherwise saved my energy for the new week.
