New frame agreement with Haugesund municipality

Omega Areal has renewed its frame agreement with Haugesund municipality. The demolition of the bus station in Haugesund and replacement of masses at Flotmyr is one of the Omega Areal’s current assignments.

“We are humbled to receive renewed confidence from Haugesund municipality. We now have frame agreements with the three largest municipalities in the Haugaland region, namely Tysvær, Haugesund, and Karmøy,” says General Manager of Omega Areal, Gisle Heggebø.

The frame agreement with Haugesund municipality comprises of building administration and consulting engineering for building (RIB). Omega Areal also recently opened an office in Haugesund in order to ensure that they remain close to customers in the Haugaland region.

Haugesund municipality has worked to develop Flotmyr, the city's “backyard”, for many years. The background for the project, that has now started, was a European architectural competition whereby proposals were received from as many as 30 architectural offices in Europe. According to the plan, preparations will now be made for both swimming facilities and commercial plots at Flotmyr. The project has a total budget of NOK 90 million.

The demolition job at Flotmyr is now well underway. The replacing of masses will also start this summer.
