BIM makes it possible to navigate within the 3D model of a project. Omega’s BIM team is currently working on improving the BIM module and its ability to link to Pims.

In order to strengthen this commitment, a new department has been established. Per Olav Stenberg will be in charge of the BIM module in Omega and has now been promoted to the position of Department Manager. Stenberg’s main focus will be on securing the continuous development of BIM/3D and building a strong department that is ready to tackle the various challenges that may arise.

“We are confident that we have the right person, and the right team, in the right place,” says CEO of Omega PS, Svein Tore Haraldseid.

In 2018 Stenberg led the development of the BIM module, which is now in use by clients such as Statsbygg (the Norwegian government’s key advisor in construction and property affairs), Sykehusbygg, Avinor, and Veidekke.

The BIM module is an integrated part of Pims 365 whereby the user can attach information to a room or a specific 3D object. When performing document control, documents can be linked to rooms and interior objects in order to easily find, for example, the user guide for a printer, or the warranty for a hospital bed. For teams performing project completion tests and controls, documentation can be linked to specific rooms, in order to keep track of which rooms have been controlled or not.

In addition to Stenberg, the BIM department will consist of experienced developers including, Per-Niklas Longberg, Aakash Apoorv, Nicolai Vikanes Stensland, Tor Haakon Andersen, Jørgen Habbestad, and Frederic Dumont.

We wish Per Olav and his team the best of luck in their newly-established department!
