Week Four - A home away from home
28.11.05 - 04.12.05

Bitten by Canada's winter chills, Richard anchors himself at his new found home away from home...where the "soccer" is live and the breakfasts are fried!

Another typical working week in Calgary.

The cold weather has been around for some time now, never seeing temperatures above minus 15°C during the day, and as low as minus 25°C during the night. Thankfully, there is little wind, otherwise it would be unbearable at times.

The weekend was another night on the town at the usual locations, ending up in one of the favourite spots, "Whiskey". The Christmas atmosphere is starting to pick up with more and more people hitting the town for Christmas parties.

Also found a great place to spend Sunday mornings, particularly for those who are fans of English Premiership Football, (or soccer, as we have to call it here!). Located a pub called "The Ship and Anchor", only a few minutes walk from my apartment, where at 9am they show live Premiership football and serve a full English breakfast of eggs, bacon, sausage, fried bread, beans and tea to wash it down. An Englishman's taste of heaven. A great way to get rid of the after affects of a Saturday night out.

The pub has a great English vibe heavily themed around football. The Haugesund Wembly bar in Calgary!
